Rob is the Chief Executive Officer of Mid-Am. With over 25 years of experience in the industrial and commercial construction sectors, Rob has consistently driven growth and operational excellence in skilled trade environments. Since joining Mid-Am, Rob has been instrumental in driving significant growth and expansion including the acquisition of four additional businesses and increasing headcount by 50% across the platform. Rob has also crafted a strategic Mid-Am platform team to align with the needs of the operating companies, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency. Additionally, his efforts have contributed to substantial revenue growth, further solidifying Mid-Am’s position in the industry.
Rob’s career began in hands-on roles, including Field Engineer and Carpenter Intern at Spence Brothers, and Project Engineer at The Christman Company. He advanced through various leadership positions, serving as General Manager and Vice President of Operations at WIELAND, and later as its Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, WIELAND expanded its national footprint and enhanced its reputation in the construction industry. He later joined Fessler & Bowman, Inc. as Vice President of Operations. His efforts contributed to Fessler & Bowman becoming one of the top commercial concrete contractors in the United States.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management & Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business/Commerce from Western Michigan University. He earned his Master of Business Administration with distinction from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, where he also completed an Executive Education program in Strategic Digital Marketing.
Beyond his executive roles, serves as the chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at Western Michigan University and has been a trustee on several union pension and healthcare fund boards. Additionally, he contributes to construction technology development by participating in advisory boards for leading software platforms.
Russ is the Chief Financial Officer at Mid-Am Building Solutions, where his specialty in mergers and acquisitions plays a key role in Mid-Am’s continued success. He brings over 25 years of extensive experience in finance, accounting, and audit leadership across diverse industries, especially in companies that provide construction services.
Russ began his professional journey in external audit at Crowe, where he developed a strong foundation in financial reporting and compliance. He then transitioned to internal audit roles at companies such as Laidlaw and Intermatic, further honing his expertise in risk management and internal controls. At MYR Group, a leading specialty electrical construction services firm, Russ advanced to Vice President of Corporate Accounting, overseeing financial operations and contributing to strategic acquisitions and integrations. Most recently, he served as Corporate Controller at Orion Energy Systems, Inc., where he led financial reporting and compliance initiatives.His career encompasses roles in both public and private sectors, where he has consistently driven financial integrity and operational excellence.
Russ holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Russ is also a Certified Public Accountant and is registered with the state of Illinois as a CPA.

Her career spans diverse sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and skilled trades, where she has led initiatives in talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development. This extensive hands-on experience has refined her ability to craft HR strategies that resonate with operational teams and drive workforce engagement.
